things traveled the world by sail.  Shipping by sail lasted past the 1st World War.  And now, with the advent of plastic boats (fiberglass) a safer and lower maintenance boat is available to those adventurous souls that want to “sail the seven seas.”  Well - maybe just to Santa Catalina...
